Inspired by Phillis Wheatley’s poems, which draw heavily on memory, persistence, and hopefulness, Rauh and his artist/writer siblings created 20 one of a kind limited edition hand made craft sets to accompany the Rauh’s original music. Each set includes a download card for the digital album, a painting by Christina Rauh Fishburne—torn into several pieces to signify Phillis’ refusal to be defined by the past while recognizing that through memory, the elements can be recreated in triumph, and a handwritten poem by Christopher Rauh in reflecting on Wheatley’s poems and his brother’s musical interpretation of them. No two sets contain the same elements.
