about

The Silent Current From Within follows Charlie Rauh’s third album, The Bluebell, a collection of solo acoustic guitar pieces inspired by the poetry of Anne and Emily Brontë, and continues the literary theme taking its name from a line in Anne Brontë’s beloved poem, “If This Be All.” Expanding from the solo guitar approach of his previous releases to ensemble arrangement, Rauh enlisted long time collaborators Ess See on vocals and Ken Coomer (Wilco/Uncle Tupelo) on drums, with Jonah Kraut on upright bass. The swirling, earthy, tactile arrangements move between pieces inspired by the writing of Anne Brontë, Christina Rauh Fishburne, and Anne Carson to illustrate a brief journey in search of purpose in the face of overwhelming adversity.
